About Kenn Petruk

A life-long Albertan, Kenn is an Emeritus Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta Hospital, where he performs research in Neuro-oncology (brain tumors) and nutrition. He and his wife Jackie live in a cottage at Fallis Beach, which has been in Jackie’s family since 1926. As lifetime environmentalists, they are proud stewards of the lake. Kenn started his academic career on a football scholarship from Utah State University. He continued on to the University of Alberta to complete his medical degree and training in neurosurgery. He practiced neurosurgery at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the last 20 years at the University Hospital, where he was Clinical Professor and Director of the Division of Neurosurgery and Neuroscience.
