The Wabamun Lake Watershed Management Plan (2020) (WLWMP) states the main risks to Wabamun Lake include invasive species, blue-green algae blooms, excess nutrients, climate change and cumulative impacts. Mitigating the risks/threats to the lake is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders (governments, industry/business, property owners, and visitors).
